  30. As an alternative to deleting the old exchange you can

  33. But you have to make sure that both clients and workers

  39. * Timezone support.
  40. The local timezone is still used by default, because enabling
  41. time zone support means that workers running versions pre 2.5
  42. will be out of sync with upgraded workers. UTC will be the default
  43. version in 3.0, since it is essentially a backward incompatible change.
  44. To enable UTC you have to set :setting:`CELERY_ENABLE_UTC`::
  45. CELERY_ENABLE_UTC = True
  46. With that enabled dates and times in task messages will be
  47. converted to UTC, and then converted back to the local timezone
  48. when received by a worker.
  49. You can change the local timezone with the :setting:`CELERY_TIMEZONE`
  50. setting. Custom timezones requires the :mod:`pytz` library to
  51. be installed.
  52. * New Message Signing Serializer.
  53. A new serializer has been added that signs and verifies the signature
  54. of messages.
  55. The name of the new serializer is ``auth``, and needs additional
  56. configuration to work (see :ref:`conf-security`).

  495. The pool is used by everything that requires a broker connection. For
  496. example applying tasks, sending broadcast commands, retrieving results
  497. with the AMQP result backend, and so on.
  498. The pool is disabled by default, but you can enable it by configuring the
  499. :setting:`BROKER_POOL_LIMIT` setting::
  500. BROKER_POOL_LIMIT = 10
  501. A limit of 10 means a maximum of 10 simultaneous connections can co-exist.
  502. Only a single connection will ever be used in a single-thread
  503. environment, but in a concurrent environment (threads, greenlets, etc., but

  505. connection will block the thread and wait for a connection to be released.

  908. The magic keyword arguments were responsibile for many problems
  909. and quirks: notably issues with tasks and decorators, and name
  910. collisions in keyword arguments for the unaware.
  911. It wasn't easy to find a way to deprecate the magic keyword arguments,
  912. but we think this is a solution that makes sense and it will not
  913. have any adverse effects for existing code.
  914. The path to a magic keyword argument free world is:
  915. * the `celery.decorators` module is deprecated and the decorators
  916. can now be found in `celery.task`.
  917. * The decorators in `celery.task` disables keyword arguments by
  918. default
  919. * All examples in the documentation have been changed to use

  1054. This means events will not be stored until there is a consumer, and the
  1055. events will be gone as soon as the consumer stops. Also it means there

  1057. The routing key of an event is the type of event (e.g. `worker.started`,
  1058. `worker.heartbeat`, `task.succeeded`, etc. This means a consumer can
  1059. filter on specific types, to only be alerted of the events it cares about.
  1060. Each consumer will create a unique queue, meaning it is in effect a
  1061. broadcast exchange.
  1062. This opens up a lot of possibilities, for example the workers could listen
  1063. for worker events to know what workers are in the neighborhood, and even
  1064. restart workers when they go down (or use this information to optimize
  1065. tasks/autoscaling).

  1067. The event exchange has been renamed from "celeryevent" to "celeryev"
  1068. so it does not collide with older versions.
  1069. If you would like to remove the old exchange you can do so

  1452. These messages are called "events".
  1453. The events are used by real-time monitors to show what the
  1454. cluster is doing, but they are not very useful for monitoring
  1455. over a longer period of time. Snapshots
  1456. lets you take "pictures" of the clusters state at regular intervals.
  1457. This can then be stored in a database to generate statistics
  1458. with, or even monitoring over longer time periods.
  1459. django-celery now comes with a Celery monitor for the Django
  1460. Admin interface. To use this you need to run the django-celery
  1461. snapshot camera, which stores snapshots to the database at configurable
  1462. intervals. See :ref:`monitoring-nodjango` for information about using
  1463. this monitor if you're not using Django.
  1464. To use the Django admin monitor you need to do the following:

  1487. The rate limit can be an integer (snapshots/s), or a rate limit string
  1488. which has the same syntax as the task rate limit strings (`"200/m"`,
  1489. `"10/s"`, `"1/h",` etc).
  1490. For the Django camera case, this rate limit can be used to control
  1491. how often the snapshots are written to the database, and the frequency
  1492. used to control how often the thread wakes up to check if there's
  1493. anything new.
  1494. The rate limit is off by default, which means it will take a snapshot
  1495. for every :option:`--frequency` seconds.

  1897. it sleeps for the remaining time of the item with the nearest deadline.
  1898. If there are no eta tasks it will sleep for a minimum amount of time, one
  1899. second by default.
  1900. A bug sneaked in here, making it sleep for one second for every task
  1901. that was scheduled. This has been fixed, so now it should move
